What do you consider to be cool? Some youths underachieve and get into lots of trouble at school to impress their friends. They’re proud of that, it’s what they consider to be cool.
 
No-one likes to be called a nerd, a geek, a boffin. But in the end it’s all worth it. All you have to do is ignore the immature and stupid names that you’re called. Do you really think they mean anything?
 
Some kids begin their life at school at the top of the class. But, then end up near the middle or the bottom. Why is this? It’s because they don’t try, they are proud of being bad. They think everything is fun and that they don’t have to work, but really they do.
 
Look further on in life: what would you like to be? Do you want to have a successful life? Do you want to earn more money and become rich? But have you ever thought ‘how am I going to achieve this’, well the answer is you need to work for it.
 
Why do I think people reckon it's ‘cool’ to fail? I think it’s because people in richer countries get so many opportunities. There is always something else round the corner. However, children in poorer countries don’t think this. They grasp every opportunity they can get their hands on, because they don’t have everything we take for granted. I say, take every opportunity you can get and then you’ll see what you can really achieve.
 
I don’t consider failing and getting into trouble to be cool. I work my hardest and make sure that I strive to achieve my maximum potential. I’m hoping that this will get me into the job I want.
 
Consider this carefully and maybe you to might change your ways towards the real cool; achievement and success.
